CLAWBACK FOR SENIOR BANKERS?

There has been some talk of clawback of compensation for certain UK bankers, but exactly on what grounds is unclear to me.  The IFR is talking about a potential clawback of compensation for Mike Rees, its senior banker who is expected to leave at the end of the year. The IFR reports in its January 9th 2016 edition that the compensation committee of the board may clawback some compensation on the back of the bank's poor financial performance. I wonder if clawback is the best way to explain this... in fact, it may just be that Mr Rees's compensation is tied to the mid term performance of the company and is paid out over time... so this really isn't a clawback per se. However it does underscore how performance compensation can bite in today's game of banking twister!
