AU REVIOR!

Talk over the weekend is that Sir Mike Rake, currently deputy chairman of Barclays, is about to step down as his replacement is to be appointed shortly. No doubt the supervisor is finalising its process to approve Sir Mike's replacement, reportedly Sir Gerry Grimstone, currently NE Chairman of Standard Life.  All of this of course is directly linked to the naming of Jes Staley as CEO and Sir Mike's desire to move on to new pastures.  These moves should allow Barclays to decidedly move on from its C-suite and boardroom changes announced earlier in the year and prepare for regulatory and business challenges in front it and the industry at large.
