Women increase their presence as NEDs

As reported in the FT earlier, Korn Ferry has put out a report this month indicating that more women are joining corporate boards as NEDs. The reports highlights that 39% of first time FTSE350 NED appointees were women last year, up from 11% in 2007. Women NEDs in general management and finance in particular have increased sharply, from 5 in 2013 to 53 appointees last year.  Such statistics demonstrate the UK government is making considerable progress towards increasing representation of women on UK corporate boards.  Many expect such moves in the boardroom to eventually lead to greater access to senior management and even the CEO suite for women over time.  See more on this story at http://www.executive-grapevine.com/board-leadership/article/2015-08-09-ftse-350-increase-in-female-board-members-inspiring-the-next-generation
