Co-op Bank Updates Ethical Codes

Co-op Bank, the UK lender plagued by governance and risk issues last year, has pledged to re-vamp its ethical codes which will impact who and how it does business with going forward - watch out payday lenders and firms accused of not paying their share of taxes.  The banking firm which has been previously re-capitalized by the capital markets community, has made this pledge in an attempt to re-commit to its historical focus on ethical business practices. This is of note here given these actions can be seen as well positioned in the stakeholder theory of corporate governance, or considering stakeholders including the community-at-large when making business and board level decisions.  See more at http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a7d4f872-9ffb-11e4-aa89-00144feab7de.html#axzz3PO9u6jmS.
